Texas License to Carry a Handgun (LTC) class (formerly known as CHL) to include NRA Basic Pistol & Home Protection. This class is for beginning and practiced shooters. It consists of five to six (5-6) hours of class time and one (1-2) hour range time with a Military Veteran that is a Texas DPS and NRA Certified License to Carry a Handgun Instructor.
You will learn about the proper safety and use of a firearm, ways to obtain non-violent dispute resolution, proper gun storage, conceal and open carry laws, the new permitless "constitutional" carry laws and more. All classroom materials are provided.
In addition, this class teaches basic and defensive shooting skills, strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, and how to choose a handgun for self-defense.
You do not need to own a handgun for this class. You will need a .22 or larger handgun and no laser or modified sights along with 50 rounds of ammunition to qualify for the range portion of the class. If you do not own a handgun you can borrow one from us (or rent from the range). If you would like to borrow a handgun, please let us know by text or email. You will need to bring safety glasses and hearing protection and closed toe shoes. Range costs will be approximately $11.00 to $17.00 which includes the target.

After qualifying you will get the required LTC-104 Course Completion Certificate along with instructions on how to file to get your license. You will also get Basic Pistol and Home Protection Course Completions Certificates.
