SPECIAL CLASS FOR JOSEPH & SARAH. Texas DPS Certified License to Carry a Handgun Class (LTC) with Personal Instruction. Thursday, July 3, 2025 @ 9:00 a.m.

At CeaseUSA, we thank God for our regular customers and would like to say thank you to Joseph for choosing us for FFL services and personal firearm instruction.  We are pleased to offer this personal one-on-one with the Instructor class for Joseph and Sarah only. 

Texas DPS Certified License to Carry a Handgun Class (LTC) with NRA Basic Pistol class modules and Personal Instruction.

This class is for beginning to intermediate shooters 21 years or older.   It consists of five to six (5-6) hours of class time and one to two (1-2) hour range time with Jimmy Cleveland who is both a Texas state DPS and NRA Certified Instructor and a U.S. Marine and U.S. Army military veteran of the Gulf War.  

This private class includes additional firearm class modules from the certified NRA Basic Pistol course along with individual firearm instruction.   This class teaches general firearm basics such as the various calibers and firing mechanics and how to choose a handgun for self-defense, also basic and defensive shooting skills and how to respond to a violent confrontation.  

You will learn about the proper safety and use of a firearm, ways to obtain non-violent dispute resolution, proper gun storage, conceal and open carry laws, the new permitless "constitutional" carry laws and more.   In addition, this class teaches basic and defensive strategies for home safety.  All classroom materials are provided. 

What you will need: 

Bring your current Texas Driver's License for the class. 

For the range qualification, you will each need a .22 or larger handgun and no laser or modified sights along with 50 rounds of ammunition to qualify for the LTC.   You do not need to own a handgun to qualify for the Texas LTC.  If you don't own a handgun or simply would prefer, you can borrow one from the instructor.  If you would like to borrow a handgun, please let us know by text or email.  You will need to bring safety glasses and hearing protection and closed toe shoes.  Range costs will be approximately $11.00 to $17.00 which includes the target.

Note:  Donuts, kolaches and coffee will be provided in the morning.  You may want to bring a snack or sandwich for the afternoon break.

After qualifying you will get the state required LTC-104 Course Completion Certificate along with instructions on how to file to obtain the Texas DPS License to Carry a Handgun.
